Short Stories

The short story is an art form all its own. I find it the best kind of training exercise for writing, and even if I someday have twenty books on the best-seller list, I still want to write them. Short stories demand economy of words. This helps me trim the fat in my longer works as well.
Of course, you take up the genre at your own peril. Writing a short story is like walking a tightrope over the Grand Canyon. If you make a mistake, everyone’s going to know.

Well done, Kimberly! I love this story. The best lunch hour read I’ve ever had. Thank you!
Nice story, Trish. I especially liked the bar, “Crash” … Ski lift chairs… clever, I’d love to see that. I love your dialogue too… quite a skill you have going on.
Honestly, I sometimes feel more like Maureen…
Kimberly, you’ve done it again! Amazing job. I can’t wait to read more… Really loving this blossoming SOON TO BE love story… Marcus won’t know what hit him when he gets bitten by the lovebug.
Love it as usual. You are such a good writer.
Awesome! my world everyday, but I have to say, I love it when “NO” somehow someway, “just happens” …:) Thanks for the fun lunch!
Good luck! I’m terrible at short stories. I can do flash fiction credibly well, and novellas, but I can’t seem to do the 3,000 to 6,000 ish word count.
