Monday Moments: Contentment
Oct 6th, 2014 by Kimberly
I’m starting a new blog series. Monday Moments will feature one of my favorite photos each week, followed by a few words about why I like it. These pictures aren’t perfect. They just speak to me. I’d like to hear what they say to you.
Contentment
If you don’t have a thing for cats, you’ve probably wondered why other people do. Temperamental, often aloof, judgmental little creatures, who probably talk to each other about how hard it is to find good help. Well, this is why. Cats don’t get desperate for human company, and they generate their own warmth. There’s only one reason why a cat curls up and sleeps on you: because right then, it wants to.
Oddly enough, its contentment reaches through its fur and seeps into you, and for a moment, all is right with the world.

I love when I am feeling lousy Zoe will come and sit close to me. It makes me fell better knowing Zoe cares.
Zoe is really good at knowing when she’s needed! It never ceases to amaze me.
Growing up we had multiple cats that adopted us. We also had dogs, cows, chickens and maybe othets I do not recall. Our cats were not of the neurotic variety. Aloof? Yeah I guess but that is what you get with a cat. When a cat wants attention they are available for you to give it to them. When they are not around they have something they would prefer doing like sleeping under a bush or on the patio in the sun. Our cats were also the big variety. Even though they were huge they all could catch hummingbirds. No joke. They did not have any issues hanging out on the couch so we could pet them. They were definitely the cool cats in our house.
So true! I miss my kitty(ies) but am currently loving my dog. Nothing like a warm, soft ball of fur next to you…like the one currently at my feet snoring softly. Ahhhh…
