Monday Moments: Acceptance
No, I haven’t been holding out on you. I don’t have a dog. This cute nose and the canine attached to it, a lab named Selkie, belongs to Erika Gardner. I spent a weekend with Erika and her family, and Selkie decided to visit me one morning. If I hadn’t already been awake, I wouldn’t have known she was there at all. Erika is a gracious hostess, but I think Selkie is her secret weapon. Something about having a dog waiting patiently for you to wake up, its nose resting on the end of your bed, is the ultimate way to make someone feel at home.
Someday, if I spend enough time around Erika and Selkie, I hope I can make people feel this loved and accepted, too.
So sweet. Dogs are awesome. We have 4. Would not trade their sleeping most of the day butts for any other beast. Maybe a baby elephant. Maybe.
AWESOME pic!! 😉
What a lovely sentiment!
I love the sweet look in her eyes and her calm presence.
Awww…
I, myself, never realized that dogs were people, too, until we adopted a dog about 8 years ago. Sallie has been such a blessing, especially to our daughter. She is definitely a family member.
I’m still a lifetime cat-lover, I just found a new love.
Selkie is definitely a sweetie!
