Carpe Dormio

CARPE DORMIO
I’m tired of clocks
and holes in my socks
and dishes that need to get done.
I’m weary of dreams
that are frayed at the seams
and races I haven’t won.
I’ve had it with pieces that don’t quite fit
and I’m sick of making the best of it.
I’ve heard the advice
and it’s all very nice
especially the “Eye of the Tiger” reprise
but there’ll be no surviving
let alone thriving
till I get a day that I don’t have to seize.
Tomorrow, I promise, I’m in it to win it
but today, I need to check out for a minute.
Kimberly rarely writes poetry, and on her better days, she really likes that Survivor song.
I love it!
That’s a keeper! Might become my anthem, considering how much people I’d me about my sleeping habits, lol.
Zoe has a great location for her basket. She can see and hear all that is going on in her home while she naps.
Love the poem, Kim!
I don’t even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was great. I don’t know who you are but definitely you are going to a famous blogger if you are not already 😉 Cheers!
Thanks to survivor for latest poetry, just beautiful. This
was written for her by a friend, I know life can be hard No,
actually damn cruel the trials we have to face we fight no time to
re-fuel I know the days seem endless without a light ahead But
Barbara (name changed) the strength I see you glow with nothing
said you have a friend in me to lean on if need be I have
experienced and felt the same and life was such doom and gloom But
as I faced all my pain I have grown with life and bloomed I’m not
saying you will forget but the sun will begin to shine with all the
strengths from this group we will heal you with time anon.
